A PARCOURS BETWEEN ART AND SCIENCE DAY OF RELATIVITY
DEFORMATION OF SPACE AND TIME
LICHTHOF OF LEIBNIZ UNIVERSITÄT
HANNOVER
25.11.2015-26.11.2015
Deformation of space and time - is a cooperation project between Hermannshof and Leibniz Universität with the Collaborative Research Center 1128 "Relativistic Geodesy and Gravimetry with Quantum Sensors (geo-Q)". For one year, artists visited geo-Q geodesists and physicists in their laboratories, and got acquainted with measuring the world in space and time. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the first publication of Einstein's Theory of General Relativity ART, they present the results of this discourse. In addition, there are short lectures on the topics of geo-Q, why the earth is "dented" or why we age faster on the head than on the foot. In quick dating, the "Artists in Labs" with the scientists provide insights behind the scenes. And talk about what the day of relativity has to do with the project.
Photography and the artist's book: Peuker visited the Hermannshof and various geo-Q institutes with students on the topic of "measuring time" in photography. Selected photographs and an artist's book document this process.
Cooperation partners: Weißensee Academy of Art and Design Berlin
